I was having Fake confidence. Never trekked with an unknown group before. Don’t even have the gears for trekking. Gained weight during lock down. Strained muscle from badminton games. And I was riding to the homestay from Bangalore 330km. There were lot of odds. I met other in the group and by listening to the trekking experiences of others in the group it was almost certain that I am gonna be the sweeper.
The Motivators of @unexploredclub
The Trek started at around 9am after an ice breaker / introduction session conducted by the trek leads. I got to know enough information to trek smooth and safe.
But,
What do you do when you are with experts around you but you are not one of them? You may try to learn from them or get engaged with something else while being there, Or you showoff your other skills, which is probably irrelevant to the activity.
For me, my DSLR was the coverup. While everybody were busy enjoying the trek & the beautiful trails, I was trying to enjoy the journey by taking photos. I was slow, but that very fact of being slow was getting hidden because I was clicking. May be they were thinking I am a good photographer which probably I am not. Art of disguise 😂
The Trek Leads have always ensured that nobody falls back. 🙏
The Journey to the Peak with the Leads cum Friends
Now that I have taken off the ground...
Yes you will feel like you are walking in the sky in the cloud and yet you will enjoy the lush green view around you.It was a meadow trek and it stood up to expectation. What I had not expected is the cloud-walk. I did a moonwalk in the cloud. No body saw it because the clouds were not see-through.
When you are there you breathe in the positive vibes, you breathe in the purity of nature and you thank the creator and you connect to the universe. And in that universe leeches are also present. I connected to some of them. It was quite a different feeling. Trust me, you will realize how someone can suck your blood without you being aware of it. :D
Now breathe out all your negativity and focus on the peak. While the captain ensured the fast trekkers are enjoying the speed, other leads made everyone comfortable like friends to maintain the pace of the group. Adequate breaks to refuel and photo sessions on the edgy rooks kept the enthusiasm alive. And yeah not to forget the AO-OA (lost and found code) was crazy funny & awesome
Quote by @anu: we mostly get to the bottom of the waterfall. how many times you get an opportunity to see the top?
This motivation was enough for many to push themselves hard to reach the peak. When we reached to the mesmerizing view of the top of the waterfall i went speechless. So will be my post without a description...Let your very own thought process run. Just enjoy yourself being there in peace. Special thanks to Super Sebin urf Sober Sebin for being the backbone of the group.
Have you ever wondered: Why are you passionate about a ride/ trek? To find yourself or to loose yourself?
It’s not a copy of what Ranbir Kapoor clicked in the movie Wake up Sid. It’s inspired..😁 This pair of Adidas all terrain running shoes outperformed during the trek. While I observed few struggling on the slippery trail with trekking shoes, I wasn’t disappointed with what I had.
While a pair of all terrain trekking shoes is best in terms performance (better grip, avoids insects and rain proof) never step back to tryout your ability to conquer just because of accessories and gadgets. Our local guide Sabina did it all with a pair of slippers 😱
